The Calista Initiative brought hands-on freshwater and marine science to communities across Wisconsin during the 2026 Wisconsin Science Festival.
From Family Night at the Green Bay Kroc Center to Science by the River in Wisconsin Rapids, young explorers and their families discovered science through interactive activities. Participants experimented with clay boats to investigate buoyancy, explored underwater pressure with Cartesian divers, and learned how water moves through our freshwater systems.
Calista also joined the Wisconsin Science Festival's virtual field trip program, connecting with students and educators to explore careers in marine and freshwater science, research vessels, underwater technology, and conservation.
Each experience reflected Calista's mission: inspiring curiosity, building confidence, and helping young people discover the science of water.
Curiosity Runs Deep.
